Aluminum rims are lighter than steel rims? At least that is the claim. Very often you’ll only gain a few kilograms. The essential disadvantages are often overlooked: aluminum rims are mostly very expensive and resent any kind of damages. Usal wheel covers display also no satisfactory alternative. Highly polished hub caps made of stainless steel for transporter and mobile homes. The fitting of the hub caps is done with vehicle specific brackets (no clamp brackets) screwed under the wheel nuts of the standard steel rim.
